A Happy Biker

Perhaps Lucy was a little late to this game, but now she's a player... Up and biking on two wheels. It was literally as if a switch were flipped and she suddenly got it. Last Saturday, after less than a minute of Rob holding her shoulders, she just said, "Daddy, you can let go." End of story. Rob called me at home, I ran over the park, Lucy came around the track on her bike with the biggest ear-to-ear grin I've seen on her face ever...

Way to go Lucy!!!

You beat Betsy May on the bike learning thing - she didn't get it until she was seven.

We are looking forward to your visit this coming Friday!!!

Love,
Farmer Megan

Go Lucy! What fun to free yourself of training wheels.

I just got caught up on about 3 months of your blog, April. I've been way too busy for too long. So good to get to read more about the homeschooling experience. It makes me want to order the curriculum you're drawing from -- mostly just to steal pieces of it for pre-school teaching or for fun activities with Will and to get a deeper sense of the ideas grounding it all. (Of course, it's fairly pricey so I'll just have to count that as yet another reason to make it out to Seattle for a visit -- so I can start nosing through your books a bit). Anyway, I'm glad it's going so well.
