Halloween weekend started with Lucy, Jasper and Rob out in the country learning about mushrooms. They returned home with two alder logs that they had inoculated with shiitake mushrooms that will be ready to bloom in 9 - 12 months. Here they are painting beeswax over the spots the mushrooms had been squirted in.
For Dad:
In case you are wondering, Jasper was a police mouse for Halloween - a perfect combo of two of his favorite topics.

Now that I'm almost never blogging (still intending to do a post one of these days) I forget to come visit. Or really, I just don't find time. Finally made it though and I'm always refreshed by these pictures of life with the Browns. I'm running too, inspired by dog ownership and the realization that I can fight off my allergy/sinus issues with a little aerobic workout. Running is good. Wish I could sample those shitakes when they're ready.
Love to all of you.
